My passion is showing business owners how effective online video can be when combined with social media marketing.![]()
While helping people with my video marketing services, I’ve found Facebook is one of the most powerful mediums to get traffic to a video from a very targeted and qualified audience.
You can promote your business through Facebook in many ways even if you don’t have a video, but I thought it would be useful to highlight the common mistakes I see people making when trying to do this.
Check em out and see if you are guilty of any of these…
1. Setting up a new Facebook profile for your business
If you want to get the most benefit from creating a presence for your business on Facebook, don’t set up another profile and use your logo as your image. Although you can collect a huge following of friends, you are missing out on a heap of features available to you through the fan pages. I am ‘friends’ with so many businesses in Perth because they’ve been suggested to me one way or another. It is a bit confusing when you get a friend request from a logo, and it actually against Facebooks Terms of Use to do this. Some people setup two profiles for themselves – one for business and one for personal use. If you want to promote your business on Facebook, setting up another profile is one of the most common mistakes people make.
2. Setting up a Facebook group for your business
This is better than creating a new Facebook account, but having a group gives you limited interaction with your network and the only way you can communicate with your community is by sending them messages. I find these messages are now clogging up my inbox and I barely ever read them. Yes, having a group of your customers on Facebook can certainly build a community and work to help your customers interact with each other.
